Job Description

The Biology Department at Lycoming College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, starting August 2027. 

This is a unique opportunity for an energetic educator and scholar to help shape a new academic major. Beyond teaching, the successful candidate will guide the acquisition of laboratory teaching and research equipment and assist in designing facilities for the new Exercise Science major , established in 2026. 

Teaching & Mentorship Responsibilities include Introduction to Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology (300-level), departmental/general education offerings (e.g., courses for non-science majors, First-Year Seminars), and mentoring a diverse student population through coursework, undergraduate research, and capstone experiences. 

Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field by the start date. Previous undergraduate teaching experience is strongly preferred.
