The Department of Kinesiology at The University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time, renewable contract (non-tenure track) faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Exercise Science, beginning August 2027.

Exercise Science is a large and growing concentration within the undergraduate Kinesiology major, with enrollment increasing substantially in recent years. We seek a faculty member who is committed to high-quality undergraduate teaching, student engagement, and service that supports the missions of the Department of Kinesiology and College of Education.

The successful candidate will teach 8 undergraduate courses per academic year in exercise science and related areas, engage in service activities, and participate actively in the academic life of the department.

Responsibilities:
• Teach up to 8 classes during the academic year in exercise science or related areas
• Meet with prospective students and their families and attend events on campus aimed at prospective students
• Participate in professional organizations
• Participate in academic citizenship

Minimum Qualifications
• Earned doctorate in exercise science, or related field
• Previous teaching experience in exercise science

Preferred Qualifications
• Professional certification such as ACSM-EP or NSCA CSCS • Preferred qualifications include a degree from a regionally accredited institution with demonstrated opportunities for in-person learning, collaboration, and engagement.
